Making Spirits Bright

Hey, Crafty Friends! Mitsyana Wright here, and I'm back with another simply adorable holiday card to share with you all!

Christmas is just a couple weeks away! And it's not too late to get your crafty self into cardmaking gear. Sometimes with all the hustle and bustle, we find ourselves too busy to make elaborate Christmas cards... so why not opt for something more simple? Take colored images, pair it with gorgeous paper flowers, add a few tiny embellishments sprinkled in, and... tah-dah a super easy, super quick, and so super cute!!

I Am Roses Products Used

Other Supplies Used
Crossover II (Crafter's Edge)
Beary Christmas Stamp Set (Maker's Movement)
Beary Christmas Die Set (Maker's Movement)
Cardstock- Red, Black, White (Recollections)
Patterned Paper (Pink and Main)
Sprinkletz- Very Cherry (Buttons Galore)
Button Fusion- Red Carpet (Button Galore)

VersaFine Onyx Black Ink (Tsukineko/ Imagine Crafts)
MISTI (My Sweet Petunia)
White Gel Pen (Sakura)
Micron Pen (Sakura)
140 lb Mixed Media Paper
Watercolor Pencils (Derwent Academy)
Water Soluble Markers (Derwent Academy)
White Gel Pen (Sakura)

Black Twine
Heidi Swapp Marquee Love Chunky Glitter

Today, I wanted to make a bigger more substantial card and if you're an avid I Am Roses fan, then you know why! Many of their wonderful flowers are quite large. And placing too many large flowers onto a standard A2 (4.25" x 5.5"-folded) card just will not do. Anything else you attempt to put on such a small space would feel crowded. So a bigger surface area is always great to accommodate larger items.

I started by creating a 6"x 6" card base from red cardstock. which I layered with a 6"x6" piece of black cardstock and 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" piece of white cardstock.

Then, I took a 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" piece of houndstooth patterned paper and die cut a circle window from the center. Then I adhered all the layers together and stamped my sentiment across the bottom of the window and set it aside to dry.

This was by far the hardest and most lengthy process of the whole card... coloring the images! LOL
Seriously though, it was! Then I die-cut the images out and added tiny details onto their scarves and presents using a white gel and black micron pen.

Time to add some POP to my card...

I ran a few leaves through my Xyron X Sticker Maker, then laid down a leafy base onto my card front.

Once I laid down my leaves, I added my bears to give myself an adequate amount of space for flower placement.

Then, I added my Red Gardenias and White Tea Roses, always starting with the biggest flowers first. Once glued down, I added a little collage medium into my flowers then dusted them chunky glitter.

Finally, I added my sprinkled bits of candy shaped embellishments and tied on a twine bow...

And here is my finished card...

I hope you enjoyed this easy card tutorial!

Until next time...
Happy Crafting!!

Choose to Shine Card

Hey, Friends!
Design Team Member Mitsyana here... I hope everyone is enjoying there weekend!
The frigid temps are rolling in and it feels like WINTER is upon us!

So for my project, I decided to create a card with a cool color theme to match the cool and ever dropping temps.

I use I Am Roses' beautiful White Lilies as the star of this card.

**Tip**
If you have difficulty in flower arrangement, I suggest using I Am Roses' pre-made flower sprays.
They take all the guessing out of pairing and arranging flowers together.

Check out their assortment of sprays HERE.

Then surrounded the lilies with an array of die-cut leaves entwined with hemp cording.

And as a final touch, I accentuated this delicately beautiful card with an assortment of rhinestones, baubles, glitter stars.

Vampire Halloween

Happy Thursday everyone! Today is Halloween so I had to make a card featuring some darker colors of flowers from I Am Roses. I paired them with this digi from Krista Smith (formerly Saturated Canary) called Vampire Halloween. I colored her up a few days ago and finally got her on a card.

Copics:
Skin: C0, C1, C2, C3, E000
Hair: C2, C8, Black
Red: R27, R29, R37, R39
Black Roses: C3, C5, C8, C10
Leaves: BG96, BG99
Black  Background: C6, C8, C10

I found some Halloween paper in my stash that was cream with black trees and crows. I really wanted some red paper. So I pulled out my Copics, R27 and R39, and colored it. I used several I Am Roses flowers to frame the image. I colored the leaves darker using BG99.

Happy Halloween! ATŠ” series "Gothic night" from Julia MITRA.

Hello, friends!
Want something scary and Gothic? So, I'm, Julia, ready to give it to you!)
Today is Halloween and I have prepared for you one very creative and atmospheric inspiration - a series of mixed-media ATŠ” called "Gothic night".

I especially like pumpkins this year, so I decided to make another pumpkin project, only now in a more gloomy, but cute version))

I love to create a multi-layer, it was interesting to consider the details and find more and more beautiful things.

Of course, in this project I used our amazing flowers - this time mainly roses:

The roses were carefully placed in the composition to harmonize not only with the idea, but also the embodiment of the Gothic night in the cemetery.

As you can see, I decided to make an unusual shape for cards and cut out of cardboard different shapes - in the form of tombstones.

To create a textured background on the basis of cardboard, I applied a texture paste through the stencil "Damascus".

Then I dried it and applied a primer - black gesso.

Then I decided to do a layering and added a little gauze and sisal, then applied to the cards sprays.

Then I started creating layers. They turned out to be very detailed and even a little scary))

I mainly used a chipboard for the project, and also added some paper scraps.
A round elements - it's acrylic drops and glass stones.

Also in the layers I used die-cuts (ScrapMan) and decorated the cards with plaster crowns (which I also primed with black gesso).

The main scary characters - pumpkins - I painted in several stages with the help of Rustic paints, then a little metallic paint, and then again a little Rustic. So pumpkins in color turned out very textured and interesting.

Then I sprayed the cards again, dried them, and added topping - black pebbles.
The black pebbles look very much like gravel, as you might notice in a graveyard. Very atmospheric!

After I painted the background with a dry brush and on the details a little with the help of metallic paints (Bronze, Golden cinnamon, Black pearl) - all from Fabrika Decoru.
And the final touch - I sprinkled the project with black dots.

Are you scared?))

Thanks for watching!
And have a little fun on the Halloween!))
With ♥, Julia)
